Position Summary:
Develops annual business segment marketing plan and executes marketing strategies to drive sales growth, client retention, Voluntary benefits participation rates, customer engagement, and positive consumer outcomes.
Position Description:
• Develops annual, strategic marketing plan and executes marketing strategies for Employee Benefits business segments. This includes both new offerings as well as enhancements to current products and solutions. Serves as the liaison between the business and Marketing to drive strategic initiatives in support of profitable business growth.
• Collaborates with EB marketing specialists/consultants, consumer experience lead, EB market business analyst, corporate research, and leaders of shared services specialized marketing hubs to execute marketing project plans.
• Develops the overall project strategy and creative briefs.
• Develops and utilizes standard work and processes to lead and manage work.
• Develops standard work and processes, including requesting, developing and ongoing management of marketing communications.
• Manages the department’s budget.
• Adopts, utilizes and role models the CI Management System as part of everyday activities to drive behavior, facilitate and foster team collaboration & empowerment, and promote a problem solving culture. Other duties and projects as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, or related discipline. Advanced professional degree a plus.
• 10-15 years relevant experience, preferably employee benefits, insurance or financial services related marketing, strategy and account management positions.
• Demonstrated success at marketing activities and ability to develop marketing strategies and creative briefs.
• Experience in digital marketing and all media – print, video, digital ad copy.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including strong ability to present plans and proposals in group and/or one-on-one settings.
• Demonstrated success in building relationships with executive management teams.
• In-depth knowledge of the employee benefits industry, market, and products.
• Able to use consumer and other insights in the development of marketing strategy and plans.
• Capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams. Prior experience working in a cross-functional role in a large corporation is a plus.
• Comfort dealing with people across all levels of the organization.
• Strong presentation, communication and meeting facilitation skills.
• Good understanding of marketing planning process and activities.
• The ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
• Fiscal responsibility; able to manage budgets.
• The balance of good creative instincts with strong strategic capabilities/business acumen.
• Influencing abilities – polished, presence, able to articulate, preparedness, able to think on one’s feet.
• Strong work ethic and service mentality.
