The core responsibilities of this position is to act as the regional manager to ensure dedicated Occupancy Planning teams are performing services according to contractual agreements, act as a point of escalation for issues and promote JLL services that support the client. This position reports directly to the Regional Account Director and will have direct reports. This position is responsible for account wide initiatives to promote Occupancy Planning services across JLL and engage in special projects in partnership with the Center of Excellence team.
Position’s Goal
To provide a national/regional perspective on Client’s occupancy planning organization, and serve as a single point of contact for quality control in terms of consistency in planning processes, procedures and protocols, as well as consistency in delivery of the workplace.
Deliverable Role / Responsibilities
From a national/regional perspective, manages corporate-wide planning standards, company image control, and special, ad-hoc planning analyses. Also serves as manager to the regional team of occupancy planners. Specifically, the responsibilities include:
• Provides a single point of contact for regional occupancy planning account issues, as well as a platform to escalate geography-specific planning issues;
• Participates in planning meetings hosted by the client’s Planning Director/point of contact;
• Understand Client Portfolio and Drive High Level Strategies across the Portfolio;
• Manage Staffing Levels to ensure appropriate staffing
• Ensures national consistency in delivery of services, by providing training and review of all deliverables;
• Ensures that Jones Lang LaSalle’s continually evolving “best practices” are incorporated into the work product of the entire team;
• Provide financial oversight and accountability of team; monitor financial metrics and have responsibility for working with the Account Director, OP Manager and “on- account” finance managers
• Collaborate with the OP management team in developing a sustainable strategic vision and management plan for this area of the practice and participate in the broader practice management activities
• Provide thought leadership for the team
Management Role / Skills
In addition to providing the information listed above, the management responsibilities of this role include:
• Ability to communicate complex ideas in a concise and summarized manner without personal bias.
• A working knowledge of leasing, facilities, operations, design, construction and technology (infrastructure).
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Understanding of and experience in implementing quality assurance and continuous improvement programs.
• Excellent analytical skills – both financial and planning
• Experienced in a wide variety of real estate projects, including expansion, consolidation, restack, process development, space audits and opportunity assessment
• Good understanding of CAFM and IWMS systems and experienced in using its data to deliver projects
• Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously and remotely
• Proven team management and motivational skills
• Must have a deep understanding of Occupancy Planning discipline
• Excellent MS skills inducing: Power Point, Excel, Access, Word
• Public speaking acumen and the ability to engage large groups
• Critical thinking that drives change and advances the practice
• Able to self-govern and make sound decisions
• Can facilitate conflict resolution - internally and externally
Activities / Deliverables
• Assists in Issuing the Quarterly Report
• Planning/Project Presentations to Client
• Lead Account Specific Occupancy Planning Meetings
• Special, ad-hoc assignment reports;
• Training manuals, report format guidelines, and other job-related procedures;
• “Best Practices” updates to account occupancy planning team
Interaction
To ensure accurate reporting of information, and foster critical relationships between various individuals and organizations, communication channels will exist with:
• Account real estate senior management;
• All planning staff, but especially planners; and
• Jones Lang LaSalle Occupancy Planning Center of Excellence Team
• Jones Lang LaSalle Regional Account Director and Leadership Team
• Collaborate with Planning, Project Management, Facility Management and Transactions on all Site Rationalization Efforts
Education / Yrs of Experience
BS or BA plus 10+ years related activity in a Corporate Real Estate environment. Background in Occupancy Planning, Architecture & Design, Real Estate Project Management, desirable. MBA preferred.
