Job Description
The KYC QC Specialist is responsible for the efficient and timely risk-based QC verification of CDD risk reviews performed by the KYC CDD Team of onboarded relationships from the Retail network and Lending teams, to include high, medium, and low risk customers, MSB/ATM, and Additional Due Diligence. KYC QC Specialist will also perform a QC verification of accounts opened via the online banking platform and sampling of consumer accounts reviewed by the Bank's third party vendor. The focus of this role is ensuring the proper verification of Know Your Customer (KYC) activities as required by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and as defined by the Bank's Risk/BSA Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Account Reviews: Perform independent KYC/CIP/CDD verification of the CDD Team risk reviews ensuring that the CDD risk reviews are in compliance with KYC procedures and BSA policy.
• Documentation/Escalation: document and maintain QC results in database and communicate findings to the CDD team; Depending on risk score/outcome, escalate accounts to KYC QC Supervisor or when red flags are identified during a review. If corrections are required, return to Analyst. Follow escalation protocol for addressing accounts that are not in compliance with current CDD risk review procedures.
• Quality and Productivity: Branch Support: Achieve team targets and goals, including but not limited to: managing workflow volumes within established SLA, working within SLA for average time to complete a review, and maintaining satisfactory quality of QC Reviews.
• Business Line Support: Assist various business lines with KYC/CIP/CDD related inquiries provide guidance on customer onboarding questions, and respond to Help Desk calls and emails in a professional manner and within timeframes of established SLAs.
Requirements
• 2 to 3 years banking experience including knowledge of business and personal new account opening/customer onboarding requirements.
• Must be knowledgeable in CIP/CDD/KYC regulations and key banking laws.
• Should be familiar with the tools and various information sources utilized in the performance of a CDD risk review.
• Ability to research, interprets, and apply regulatory requirements and operating procedures to retail business line functions.
• Must handle all company information with highest degree of confidentiality and integrity.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Effective time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a challenging fast paced environment.
