Main duties and responsibilities
About Prime Financing
Prime Financing is an expanding segment of the Barclays Markets business. Our teams in London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo provide seamless solutions in multiple asset classes, ensuring clients benefit from local support and expertise as well as proactive management of their issues. Prime Financing connects the firm with our clients in a unique way by providing them with a fully integrated offering that includes financing, clearing, settlement and asset servicing. We deliver innovative solutions across asset classes and regions globally.
Overall purpose of role
The Prime Solutions team within Prime Services partners with Sales and Trading to negotiate the commercial financing framework with clients and ensure they are correctly captured in the documentation across multiple products. This role will focus primarily on MRA, GMRA, and MSLA negotiations and related triparty documentation. The person will act as an initial point of contact post-pitch for new clients and offer technical expertise to assist Sales, Account Management and Trading to grow our franchise with new and existing clients; all the while maintaining a consistent focus on managing Legal and Regulatory risk.
Key Accountabilities
• The Onboarding of new and existing client relationships
• Acting as the initial front office point of contact for clients in the onboarding process
• Coordinate with Sales, Trading and infrastructure partners across FIF, EFG, ADS and the broader firm
• Facilitate the negotiation process by liaising with Trading, Risk, CNSG and Legal to resolve open issues in contract negotiations
• Understand individual client requirements and help tailor the onboarding process to act as partner with them
• Assist with the allocation of scarce resources to optimise completion of new client financing accounts
• Manage the delivery of cross product Legal and technical expertise to drive client outcomes
• Assist on various projects, liaising with internal stakeholders to deliver within tight deadlines
• Continuously strive to enhance the client experience:
Ø Partner with Sales, AM & Trading to tailor seamless onboarding experiences
Ø Partner on service delivery with the Client Service team
Ø Partner with Product Management to define client priorities
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Stakeholder management will be crucial to success. Build relationships with clients, the global Prime team, internal business management and support partners to ensure optimal outcome of resource allocation and focused delivery to our clients.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The Prime Solutions team is focused on solving issues for clients and ensuring the client experience is balanced with risk and other financial attribute allocation. Decision making and problem solving are key to the ongoing trajectory of the role.
Basic Qualifications
• Strong understanding of the legal document framework and commercial sensitivities
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload across support partners
• Good communicator both with clients and internal stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise and coordinate internal resources to maximise the speed and quality of client onboarding
• Strong focus and drive to attain the best outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a project/process management
• Experience in documentation negotiation with Investment Banking clients
• Understanding of Prime Brokerage, financing and broader investment banking services
