Job Description
The purpose of the position is to support multiple facets of the investment process. Focusing mainly on trading and portfolio, the candidate will resolve trade breaks, cash discrepancies, match broker confirmations and assist in ad hoc reports for the investment operations team as well as the trading team.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Work directly with Brown Brothers (BBH), brokers, custodian banks and sub custodians to ensure they are notified of all trading activity and related issues, including but not limited to trade confirmations
• Resolve trade issues from all accounting groups including Trade Processing, Trade Settlements, Securities Valuation, Securities Analysis, Compliance, and Internal Audit
• Field and solve various ad hoc requests from Lead Trade Assistants as well as Traders, including but not limited to pre-trade compliance matters
• Assist the data management team with setting up required security master records for trading and pre-trade compliance
• Work with Corporate Technology Group to support various system administration functions. i.e. reporting, blotter configuration, account setup, etc.
• Monitor and process pending corporate actions and maintain documentation
Qualifications
• An undergraduate degree; major in accounting or finance preferred
• 3+ years of hands-on experience
• In depth understanding of industry regulations and market behaviors
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and non-U.S. types of securities required (Currency Forwards, Loans, Bonds, Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps Synthetic notes, OTC Securities, Futures, etc)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills in order to identify issues or unusual activity
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; high attention to detail
• Strong decision-making skills in order to assist Traders and back office personnel
• Knowledge of Excel, Bloomberg, Charles River, WSO and FXAll is highly preferred.
