To ensure our continued success, we are looking for a seasoned Product professional with significant leadership skills to lead a team to coordinate and oversee product activities across our major groups having retirement-related offerings including Retirement, Trust and TPA.
Role Responsibility Summary:
This individual will serve as a member of the Retirement Executive Leadership Team and will report to the Head of the Retirement division. Major responsibilities include: establishing strategic vision and define road map for the organization's retirement product offerings; clearly articulating business value of new products and define products' target market; managing/driving the life cycle of products, including concept, specification, launch, adoption, and performance; overseeing customer research and engagement for gathering feedback and determining product requirements; partnering with development team to determine the technical strategy, architectural vision, and manufacturing feasibility of the product design concept; working closely with product marketing to implement innovative strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration for new and existing products.
Detailed responsibilities include:
• Drive vision and development of Ascensus Retirement product suite
• Develop vision and roadmap for Ascensus suite of Retirement products, with input from different stakeholders (product managers, clients, RM, BU executives, scrum teams)
• Break down vision and product roadmap into product lines and business goals that can be assigned to product managers and scrum teams
• Ensure scrum teams are allocated across top business priorities maximizing the match of existing skillsets/experience with team scope
• Involve Head of Retirement BU and COO to ensure to identify and address trade-offs in resource allocation and execution towards business priorities
• Develop a strong Retirement Product organization
• Hire, train and coach a strong team of Product Managers, Product Owners and BAs – including the PO and BA chapter leads
• Maintain a detailed definition of Product Manager and Product Owner role(s), and identification and sharing of best practices
• Ensure clear differentiation, specialization and training of Ascensus associates into key Agile roles: product manager, product owner and BA
• Share product vision and roadmap with Product Mangers and Product Owners to ensure alignment
• Keep transitioning towards Agile best practices
• Assign an Agile "champion" within Retirement Product who will co-lead the continued evolution to Agile together with Technology and Education Product
• Ensure right level of autonomy and feedback loop of scrum teams
• Provide feedback to scrum teams as needed during product demos and when Product Owners are setting the vision for the scope of their own scrum teams
• Co-lead different dimensions of Ascensus Retirement products together with different stakeholder within Ascensus
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure a coherent and integrated go-to-market strategy and approach
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Finance to define and review pricing for the Ascensus Retirement suite of products to ensure competitive pricing structure and levels
• Collaborate with Marketing to define Ascensus vision, strategy and execution approach for Digital at Ascensus
• Collaborates with Technology Chapter leads to ensure right coaching of scrum teams
• Collaborates with PMO to ensure right level of information on progress (agile KPIs), pipeline and priorities is shared with the right level of granularity
• Key success measures include profitability, organizational performance metrics as well as retention and satisfaction measures for both associates and clients.
• Act as a lead industry influencer for strategy, distribution, product and service trends with prospects, internal team members and other centers of influence.
• Develop strategic plans, annual operating plans, and quarterly financial forecasts working with stakeholders and centers of excellence to meet organizational goals.
• Coordinate the development of business cases and business requirements for new functionality and lead the successful implementation of new services.
• Actively participate as a member of the Retirement Executive Leadership Team, which makes strategic decisions for the overall division.
• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Requirements:
• 15+ years of financial services industry experience with demonstrated track record of success.
• Exceptional written and verbal skills.

• Ability to leverage technology to effectuate great outcomes.

• Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred
• Industry affiliations and credentials preferred
