Business Overview: Founded in 2013, Consulting Americas works closely with BNPP’s executive management and senior leadership to: design and implement high-level, strategically important projects, and shape the development of the Bank in the region (US, Canada, and Latin America). The team—comprised of two rapidly growing sub-teams: Consulting Americas Strategy and Consulting Americas Operations—is now formally expanding into Regulatory consulting.
• Consulting Americas Regulatoryworks with the region’s Compliance, Risk, Legal, Function, and Business leadership on the high priority design, development, and implementation of Regulatory initiatives. Relevant engagements include rapid response to Regulator feedback and implementation of operational changes in light of new regulatory frameworks
The teams are highly collaborative internally across Consulting Americas and externally with clients within the Bank. Engagements can span multiple business lines, functions, and/or regions within various BNP Paribas entities such as: Corporate and Institutional Banking, Investment Solutions and the US retail bank, Bank of the West.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee project structure, approach and process
• Manage overall quality and timeliness of project delivery
• Lead and manage presentations for management
• Bring regulatory and financial services content expertise and drive resolution of complex issues
• Build long-term relationships with clients
• Lead proposals to acquire new projects
• Manage and motivate resources at all levels
• Stay abreast of relevant regulatory developments
• Partner closely with internal regulatory subject matter experts
Required Qualifications:
Education and Work:
• 10+ years of experience with a Regulator, in a regulatory-related role in a Corporate and investment bank, or leading large regulatory projects within a Consulting practice
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
Preferred qualifications:
• MBA, JD, or equivalent preferred
• Deep knowledge of industry-wide regulatory/competitor trends
• Strong executive presence and comfort working with senior executives
• Familiarity with regulatory remediation and related projects (e.g., MRAs/MRIAs, Consent Orders, Exams, KRI/KPI design, Regulatory Compliance)
• Deep understanding of banking regulations (such as Swap Dealer regulations, capital and liquidity, cybersecurity, AML/sanctions)
• Understanding of regulatory lifecycle
• Experience working with a variety of business lines and functions (such as Risk, Regulatory Relations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Tax)
• Manages one or two projects independently
• Presents convincingly in client interactions
• Writes sharp and straight-to-the-point management summaries
• Ability to deliver quality results against fast-paced project deliverable deadlines
• Sets high quality standards
• Provides overall project presentations in high quality
• Proven ability to execute complex projects with large number of dependencies
• Builds legitimacy with senior executive clients while preserving independence
• Solves client conflicts at senior executive management level
• Provides honest and independent advice
• Is seen as role model by the entire team
• Provides fair and justified performance evaluation on time
