Description
Responsibilities:
The Training Director will manage and oversee the delivery of the learning strategy for Citizens Home Mortgage. As part of Citizens Learning and Development team, this role will consult with key business leaders and HR partners to ensure the learning and development needs of the business are met, including all technical, sales, product, regulatory, and professional skills.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the development and execution of best in class Mortgage Training Curriculums
• Building relationships with all business partners to foster a common understanding of mutual goals
• Developing and executing the learning strategy based on a deep understanding of the Mortgage Business priorities and linkage to the talent agenda to ensure business success
• Leading a team of directs and non-directs to execute the learning strategy
• Manage, coach and develop team to ensure appropriate capabilities to achieve objectives
• Identifying desired training/development outcomes with tracking and reporting to business constituents regarding participation, outcomes, and impact.
• Pro-actively anticipating the needs of the Home Mortgage Business Line and translating those needs to learning and development initiatives
• Create and manage a capacity plan to maximize resource utilization
• Communicating organizational initiatives at stakeholder meetings
• Conducting, leading or supervising projects that require needs assessments of current and future training requirements, as requested by the Development Partner, Consumer Bank
• All other related duties as assigned by Development Partner, Consumer Bank
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
• 10 or more years of Training / Business experience in Financial Services, within Mortgage Business
• 5 or more years of Management Experience
• End to end knowledge of the Mortgage Industry
• Deep understanding of the Mortgage process and Regulatory requirements as well as investor guidelines coupled with the ability to apply that knowledge to impactful Learning Solutions
• Minimum 5 years experience in needs assessment and designing and delivering Mortgage Training programs (regulatory, sales, new to business etc.)
• Ability to think strategically incorporating multiple pieces of data while executing tactically
• Highly collaborative and able to lead and influence direct reports and partners
• Innovative, willing to take risks, and a lifelong learner
• Background in creating and implementing business specific professional development curriculums
• Superior facilitation and presentation skills; excellent written and communication skills
• Internal Consulting, Need Assessment, Design and Development experience
• Strong organizational and influencing skills
• Ability to travel as required
Preferred Skills/Experience
• Additional experience working within Mortgage Business in a Sales or Operations role
• Proven experience building successful Mortgage Training Curriculums from the ground up
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
• BA/BS Degree required in relevant field or equivalent work experience, Master’s degree in relevant field preferred (MBA, Education in Training, Needs Assessment and Design and Development)
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm
