Overview
The Vice President of Business Development will be primarily responsible for selling licenses healthcare data and data related offerings to targeted third parties, secondarily for selling EDI connections to healthcare payers, and for traditional business development activities.
Responsibilities
• Work with the Direct Sales leadership and SVP of Business Development to develop and document a sales strategy focused on Data Licensing agreements within Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences business sectors.
• Execute the defined strategies.
• o o Utilize consultative selling techniques to develop relationships within Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Life Science entities.
◦ ◦ License data to consultants and other third parties who use healthcare data for analytics.
◦ ◦ Meet or exceed established quotas and goals.
◦ ◦ Navigate complex organizations to find decision makers and other key stakeholders.
◦ ◦ Negotiate contractual agreements with multiple decision makers.
◦ ◦ Develop and deploy sales strategies and initiatives with targeted business partners.
◦ ◦ Coordinate cross-departmental resources within ABILITY business divisions as required to meet objectives.
◦ ◦ Communicate with and assist ABILITY management on strategic initiatives.
◦ • Track and report business development opportunities, and sales activity using ABILITY’s Salesforce CRM system, including accurate and timely documentation of all correspondence, phone calls, sales stages and opportunity booking values (as applicable).
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of ABILITY Network’s entire product suite, services, and marketing initiatives.
• Other duties as requested and/or determined by ABILITY management.
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10+ year’s vendor-side experience selling to and developing business (ideally healthcare data licensing) with pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, and ideally some experience with the healthcare payers and providers.
• Experience with Salesforce a plus
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Self-motivated with strong organizational/prioritization skills and ability to multi-task with close attention to detail
• Experience with business travel and ability to manage a travel budget
• If working remotely, must have an office space conducive to phone and Skype-based calls
• Ability to meet quantitative goals, take direction and work independently
• Travel:greater than 50%
