POSITION SUMMARY
The Director for Corporate Credit Research will be an important member of the Corporate Credit Research team with responsibility for covering banks. This role requires utilization of fundamental credit research to evaluate investment opportunities and monitor existing investment positions in the bank and financials sector. This position will partner with other members of the financials research team to develop a holistic positions and strategies and will report to the Consumer/ Financials Corporate Research Team Leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Through fundamental credit analysis, provide timely buy/hold/sell recommendations in support of investment and portfolio management needs regarding primary and secondary market investment opportunities
• Analyze market investment opportunities including: total exposure, maturity and relative value, as well as consideration of broader investment goals, strategies, and risk tolerance
• Lead coverage of an assigned portfolio of banks with respect to evaluating, analyzing and reporting on each credits’ financial results, major news releases, investor communications, and rating agency actions
• Follow and report out on economic and political developments in countries where bank investments are domiciled
• Interact with rating agencies, sell-side analysts and other independent sources to obtain external views on credits and sectors
• Drive and contribute to department or division-wide projects and process improvement efforts
• Support team in responding to information requests and perform portfolio analyses to provide transparency to Senior Management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or related area of study
• 7-10 years credit research experience, including analyzing domestic and foreign banks
• Strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to clearly articulate opinions and influence peers and senior management
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to clearly articulate and share opinions
• Strong functional capability with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
