Job Description
The Executive of Application Development is responsible for planning, designing and executing all aspects of departmental disciplines and activities to support operational and strategic needs relating to the department.
Strategic
• Work in conjunction with Division leadership and internal customers to develop a departmental strategic plan in support of the company’s strategic and operational priorities.
• Contribute to the development of business unit goals and action plans to anticipate and support the needs of a growth-oriented company.
• Serves as a trusted advisor to Executive and Senior Leadership teams.
• Effectively translates business strategy into an integrated talent strategy for the enterprise.
• Ensures the development, implementation, and coordination of departmental plans and programs and the formulation and regulatory compliance of related policies and procedures.
Operational
• Responsible for overall system requirement creation, design and architecture
• Oversees 3rd party vendors (enhancements, fixes, deployment, production support)
• Oversees unit and regression testing, release coordination and production validation and Application development
• Oversees stakeholder project reviews, Audit remediation and SDLC process adherence
• Develops and utilizes tools and processes to build a sustaining culture in support of a learning knowledge based organization with a continuous improvement process methodology.
• Provides strategic and operational leadership to the design, administration and implementation of all departmental programs, policies and processes.
• Provides leadership and guidance for direct reports and engenders a high-performance workforce culture through appropriate motivation activities, incentives and rewards in order to attract, retain and engage the talent needed to achieve and support the strategic direction.
• Ensures consistency of best practices, compliance with corporate and governmental standards and application of policies across all locations.
• Oversee relationships with vendors to support optimization of resourced solutions.
Governance
• Administer recurring routines, including committee meetings with core business partners, to drive a shared understanding, prioritization and fulfillment of initiatives.
• Maintain and publish status and exception management reporting for relevant departmental management priorities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, industry and non-industry specific wage & hour and other employment laws.
Other
• Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values.
• Fulfill on role-based personal skill and professional development requirements
• Complete special assignments necessary to support business strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
• Post Graduate Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years relevant work experience
Technical
• Conversant with technical and critical components of department strategies.
• Contemporary knowledge of business concepts, life cycles and processes.
• Master’s degree in economics, business or related field required.
General
• Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices & procedures.
• Relies on extensive experience & judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• General computer skills: including use of Microsoft Office Suite
