Position Overview
Manages the travel function within RGA. Negotiates preferred travel vendors and monitors vendor performance. Develops and maintains underlying travel processes, procedures, and controls. Communicates travel issues that affect RGA travelers and coordinates global travel planner network. Liaises internal stakeholders on issue resolution and travel training.
Responsibilities
• Negotiates preferred vendors and manages the implementation of new travel program vendors, including, but not limited to, airlines, hotels, car rental, and travel management companies. Manages relationships and tracks vendor performance through issue database, and leading quarterly vendor reviews. Tracks and maintains metrics on vendor savings and rebates.
• Coordinates with key internal stakeholders, including, but not limited to Travel Risk Management, Legal, HR, Finance, Global Mobility and Event Planning.
• Assists with the travel portion of the annual expense budget and manages requests from internal and external auditors. Responsible for determining cost transfers and allocations associated with Travel Management.
• Provides quarterly and ad hoc training sessions for global travel planners and coordinators. Communicates key trends and issues that may impact RGA’s traveling community.
• Maintains and analyzes monthly travel metrics and provides consolidated travel reporting. Distributes travel metrics to appropriate key stakeholders.
• Drafts regular revisions of Global Travel Policy and U.S. Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy.
• Participates in special projects, departmental, functional and corporate initiatives, and assignments. Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
5-8 years travel administration experience
1+ years accounting experience
Preferred: Global Travel Professional certification
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required:
• Basic Word, intermediate Excel
• Advanced working knowledge of travel industry
• Competent knowledge of proper internal controls and the ability to evaluate and implement change as required.
• Advanced persuasion skills when working with internal and external customers to resolve issues/problems
• Ability to compile, analyze, refine and interpret travel data/results
• Ability to train others
• Ability to share and impart knowledge
• Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
• Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Intermediate to advanced oral and written communication and organization skills
• Ability to foster teamwork and a customer service-focused environment
• Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative and demonstrate accountability
• Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously. Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

• General business knowledge
• Ability to travel 10% - 15%.
