Job Summary / Major Responsibilities:
• Act as an executive champion, responsible for defining the business transformation and providing the technical capabilities required to enable that transformation.
• Lead evolution of technology with a view toward continuous improvement of business processes and data integrity by using/applying appropriate technology to solve business problems.
• Day to day responsibilities include managing a team of 30+ business analysts and configuration resources for various software applications.
• Support of business line technology solutions.
• Ensure technology investments align to transformation imperatives.
• Champion building platforms for transformation and optimization that are focused on stakeholder needs, both internal and external to business line to drive alignment and support across the enterprise.
• Ensure the team (Technical, Business Tech, and Vendors) has an understanding of operational requirements, and take a shared responsibility for championing investment in a sustainable infrastructure for delivering and running software services.
• Support multiple delivery approaches, identify more customer-focused and agile approaches that align to and compliment the enterprise delivery framework.
• Communicate across multiple areas within the organization.
• Serve as a key source of advice regarding the cross-functional aspects of complex business requirements and user stories, which may not always be obvious from the start.
• Mentor, influence and lead a team of business, technology and vendor resources to build a world class operating platform.
• Lead or contribute as a key participant in multiple committees, including the Project Approval Committee.
Qualifications
• 15 years of relevant industry experience.
• Deep and current Mortgage Technology domain expertise – Sales, Operations, Secondary, Post-Closing, Servicing including imaging/OCR are all key areas of focus.
• Expertise in using technology to solve business problems, collaborative, team focused, passion for and ability to work with software development teams releasing production-ready software
Education:
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s Degree in engineering or business administration is highly preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
• Mentoring a matrixed team by imparting technical experience to less experienced peers.
• Thinking big and acting fast with a start-up mentality with enterprise awareness.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and re-adjusting plans quickly, a good understanding of the role and how the team plays in major organizations’ technology strategies is necessary. Influencing priorities, for both the business team and the technology teams supporting the department.
• Must understand both the business problem and the technical solution to advocate for excellence and effect change when necessary.
• Must have the finesse to navigate within a large organization to influence big decision makers and win trust by using people skills as much as technology knowledge.
Technical Skills & Experience:
• Architecture:
◦ Comfort with reviewing technical designs and providing feedback and confirmation of alignment to desired capabilities.
◦ Choosing the appropriate technology and designing a solution that both answers the problem at hand, and stays within constraints.
• Understanding and often consulting/participating in the entire cycle of software delivery, from ideation, to project conception, to UX, to code, to testing, to deployment, and around again. Agile (and other more traditional delivery approaches):
◦ Comfortable working with Agile, Lean and Continuous Delivery practices and seek ways to introduce those concepts within the defined enterprise delivery framework.
◦ Prior experience and understanding of the Agile Product Owner role.
◦ Demonstrated ability to execute the key components of that role in a transformation program.
◦ Strong understanding of technology architecture concepts and experience with technical delivery.
