To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Managing Director to join our Credit Team in Bala Cynwyd.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Managing Director will be responsible for the sourcing, evaluation and underwriting of credit opportunities. The Managing Director will also help to manage select elements of Hamilton Lane’s growing private credit operations and team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead credit transactions, perform underwriting analyses and prepare investment memoranda for the Firm’s Investment Committee
• Lead credit sourcing activities for the firm, including managing intermediary relationships, outbound sourcing efforts and general partner relationships
• Participate in the day-to-day management of the firm’s growing credit platform
• Assist in the formation, development and execution of new credit strategies and products
• Create unique credit deal flow for the firm
• Analyze and value underlying credit and investment opportunities
• Monitor existing investments in the firm’s credit portfolios, help establish best practices regarding credit monitoring and reporting on portfolios
Requirements:
• A minimum of 20 years of experience in an investment role, with a minimum of 15 years in credit-related investment experience
• Significant experience sourcing and executing credit transactions, with at least a partial focus on unique/complex transactions, work-outs, and/or secondary credit investing
• Significant experience structuring credit transactions and implementing loan documentation
• Demonstrated strong analytical skillset and credit underwriting history
• Ability to conduct industry research, articulate opinions and write clear and concise memoranda on investment opportunities
• Outstanding academic record
• Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong interest and commitment to private equity investing
• Strong work ethic, professional demeanor and appearance
• Travel required 20+% of time
• A team-oriented approach and an ability to interact productively within a diverse small company environment.
