Role Value Proposition:
The Group Benefits organization is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and management of MetLife's industry leading U.S. employee benefits business. Our sales force works directly with customers or through brokers, General Agents, and other third parties to distribute our broad range of Group Life, Dental, Vision, Group Disability, Global Services, Total Absence Management, Group Property & Casualty, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Legal Plan products and services. Group Benefits sells a broad portfolio of insurance solutions to employers and other eligible groups helping to make MetLife the largest provider of group employee benefits in the United States.
The below 100 group benefits is a key growth area for MetLife and as the Director Small Business Broker Channel, you will be responsible for the <100 group benefit sales nationally. Working with key brokers at the national and regional level you will drive the <100 group benefit sales to grow the top and bottom lines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manages the growth and advancement of our group products through key Brokers, TPA and emerging channels who focus <100 lives. Builds and maintains strong relationships to foster sales growth, finds new relationships and further advances MetLife’s reputation and market leadership position. In addition, the incumbent works closely with marketing, pricing and financial personnel in the product, finance and underwriting units.
• Accountable for growth of new business, increasing retention and profitability with key brokers, Brokerage’s, TPAs and Specialty Market channel partners.
• Increases business growth by communicating, educating and identifying opportunities, by removing barriers for Small and Specialty Market salesforce
• Develops and executes on Account Plans and market within our key relationships
• Partners closely with the Sales Desk Leaders, Specialty Market Directors and Regional Market Directors and Account Executives to drive sales and implement strategies
• Delivers marketing initiatives, co-branded marketing materials and various campaigns to our Brokers, and Specialty Market channel partners
• Partners with service and implementation to ensure best-in-class customer experience
• Mentors/educates colleagues on marketplace trends and insights
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 10 Years sales experience
• Proven track record of strong new business development
• Experience with <100 market
• Knowledge of Group Products
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to build relationships
