The Research, Measurement and Analytics function guides Corporate Relations on communication research and measurement and serves as the center of reputation expertise for the enterprise. Through research using the Allstate Reputation Scorecard, the team provides stakeholder data and metrics to the company and guides the enterprise in maintaining and strengthening Allstate’s reputation as a leader for our industry and a most admired American company. Research and measurement activities enable Corporate Relations’ data-driven approach and are integral to creating a world-class communications function.
The Senior Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing Corporate Relations’ research strategy and Allstate’s Reputation Leadership strategy. This role oversees the execution and ongoing strategic communication of stakeholder research and supports the integration of the findings in Corporate Relations and across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the work and professional development of a team of at least two direct reports.
• Manage research and measurement activities and strategic company-wide dissemination and implementation of results.
• Establish stakeholder reputation goals and oversee related message development.
• Lead Allstate Reputation Scorecard ongoing research and methodology refinement.
• Provide strategic counsel on reputation and stakeholder expectations to Corporate Relations and other departments across the company.
• Oversee development of reputation risk metrics and modeling tools and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
• Proactively identify emerging reputation risks and issues and use research findings to counsel senior leaders
• Liaise with internal and external research resources and experts to benchmark Allstate’s data and create holistic stakeholder assessments, analysis and recommendations.
• Work with senior leaders to discuss research findings and program development.
• Lead development of department goals and metrics in partnership with senior leaders during the annual planning process.
• Serve as the centralized research and measurement function for Corporate Relations, bringing people and resources together to maximize efficiency and integration.
• Partner with other researchers and analysts to share results and integrate efforts.
• Manage vendor/ consultant relationships.
• Develop and oversee annual research budget.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or public relations or related field required. Master’s degree in communications, business administration or related field preferred.
• The ideal candidate should be a highly-skilled communications professional with 10 or more years of relevant experience that includes stakeholder research, corporate communication and message development, risk management and strategy development.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint required.
• Expert knowledge of communication research and measurement best practices required.
• Expert knowledge of internal communications strategy development and tactic execution required.
• Expert written, executive communication, presentation and verbal communications skills required.
• Leading leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills required.
• Leading strategic thinking skills required.
• Leading level of business acumen and insurance and financial knowledge required.
• Leading project management skills required.
