JOB INFORMATION
Establish and manage a governance framework that provides oversight to the company’s management-level committee structure. Plan and direct the work of a unit whose staff develop and communicate the requirements the organization must follow to comply with the framework. Develop procedures or business processes that are compliant, and instruct management in their use. Conduct compliance reviews and analyses, and report findings to responsible corporate management. Interact with regulators in planning activities or changes to business processes that are subject to regulatory expectations.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Establish and manage a governance framework that provides oversight to the company’s management-level committee structure consisting of first line business committees and second line risk committees. A significant part of this responsibility includes creating Policies, Standards, and Procedures setting the expectations and operations of the Committees including proper escalation up to and including the Fannie Mae Board of Directors. This responsibility will require extensive knowledge of governance processes and excellent writing skills.
• Included within the governance framework, manage the company’s Policy governance and Executive Delegations of Authority programs.
• Create and administer training of the program requirements.
• Implement Fannie Mae’s compliance framework to monitor compliance with the aforementioned management-level committee governance framework. This responsibility will require a working knowledge of the compliance discipline.
• Assist stakeholders to implement findings as a result of compliance reviews. This will require experience with project management.
• Manage the Policy module of the company’s GRC tool including function enhancements, reporting, and compliance monitoring. This will require working with information technology professionals for development efforts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 8+ years of related experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Extensive knowledge of management-level committee governance within the financial services industry practice.
• Broad based knowledge of risk management and internal control concepts associated with the financial services industry practice preferred.
• Working knowledge of the compliance discipline.
• Excellent writing skills, but specifically Policy writing.
• Ability to build effective teams, including developing and mentoring team members
• Must demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills
• Must be able to build trusting relationships throughout the firm and interact with all levels of management
