Position Description

IMS middle-office solutions include trade matching, communication and affirmation; corporate actions processing; investment accounting; custodian reconciliation; performance measurement, composite management and attribution; account transitions; security master maintenance; pricing; portfolio analytics; client billing; and internal, regulatory and client reporting. In addition to these core middle-office services, SEI offers enhanced middle office solutions which include collateral management, enhanced valuation services, bank loan processing, NAV confirmation, post-trade compliance monitoring and risk measurement.
SEI’s back-office solutions focus on fund accounting, fund administration investor reporting services as well as treasury services, investor servicing, and trustee and custodial services to support multi-investor portfolios globally.
The Investment Manager Services Unit has an opportunity available for a Director within the Enhanced Middle Office Team supporting bank debt.
The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:
Oversee the bank loan processing and settlements team
Provide leadership and drive business forward
Manage projects/initiatives involving the development and implementation of business solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall operational performance
Prioritize, structure, and plan team goals annually
Oversight of development projects
Keeping up to date on industry initiatives- attend industry conferences
Assisting in the implementation of new clients & funds with managers, custodians and prime broker.
Participating in the testing of new releases/system enhancements
Manage, Train and coach supervisors to meet client daily deliverables
Communicate with appropriate internal teams or client teams if necessary to resolve open issues or questions
Communicate and work with internal technology support and vendor support in resolving any production issues or other system support queries
Take a lead role in the conversion of new clients
Work with provider to evaluate system releases/enhancements
Support release management process through testing new functionality or patches
Lead process improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate should possess:
Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, security markets and investment types
Experience with various instrument types including equity, fixed income and derivative markets and demonstrated knowledge of security terms and conditions relative to each asset type
Understanding of the pricing and valuation of various asset classes including experience with security level pricing verification processes
Strong working knowledge of industry trends and regulatory environment
Ability to interact and build effective working relationships with peers and senior management
Demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-intensity working environment with multiple and diverse responsibilities
Ability to analyze issues quickly and independently and take appropriate action under tight time constraints
Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take on additional responsibility quickly
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience
MBA or MS Accounting, or advanced degree preferred
10 years of fund accounting experience, Alternative Investment experience a plus
5 years supervisory or management experience preferred
Demonstrate knowledge of alternative investment products and structures, operational experience a plus
Strong knowledge of spreadsheets and database applications required
Experience with ClearPar, Advent Geneva, Intralinks, and LendAmend preferred
Detail oriented
Strong aptitude for numbers
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Ability to effectively work under pressure to meet concurrent deadlines
Ability to work independently and with others in an effective and professional manner
Strong interest in creating meaningful business solutions
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
