Senior Manager of Product and Business Development, Discover Personal Loans
This is a very exciting role for an individual to help drive the future of the Discover Personal Loans business. They will be part of a growth oriented team, where this individual will be expected to lead all facets of the product strategy and its corresponding roadmap. This individual will play a major role in product decisions, develop the product research learning agenda and help craft and execute new strategic partnerships and channels to grow the business, driving significant long-term impact. This individual will be expected to manage and develop direct reports to achieve these goals while also making individual contributions to the success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading current product strategy and roadmap for the Personal Loans business unit. Identifying and evaluating major feature enhancements, refining and optimizing the feature set delivery roadmap, defining other growth opportunities for the business, facilitating business unit initiatives, and implementing high-profile projects across DPLs VUs (e.g. re-engagement) by working closely with cross-functional teams and across both DPL value units as well as across teams such as Credit Risk, Finance, Legal and Compliance.
• Lead the development of the future product offering itself working closing with Pricing & Eligibility on loan usage opportunities, understanding the competitive and industry landscape and determining future state for product distribution.
• Drive both the business development strategy and its execution. This will entail a number of different high value activities: developing the business case and economics for new product uses/loan specific offerings as well as for POS distribution partners. Further this role will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing ongoing effectiveness of the rolled out feature and product enhancements on the existing product and how that impacts into the future offering of the product.
• This is a role that requires superb internal and external communication skills. Given the visibility of this role, this person must have a strong executive presence and a high standard of professionalism. This person must be able to identify and explore new opportunities, navigate in an ambiguous environment, and have a proven track record of delivering on business growth objectives.
• Promoting a risk-aware culture, ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes.

Skills
Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, MBA Preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including:
◦ Product management experience within consumer financial services; preferably 1-2 years with lending products.
◦ Strong analytical skills and the financial acumen necessary to engage in discussions regarding the financial performance of the business
