Job Summary
Recognized as the most senior level, technical expert in a risk control specialty, supporting the Accountants Professional Liability Line of Business. Individual contributor responsible for the delivery of risk control consulting services and technical support on complex risk exposures to anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external clients. The professional will maintain existing risk control resources, identify products and services that will add value to the industry, and develop resources that will align with business strategies and differentiate CNA in the marketplace.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
1. Function as a risk management content expert in this line of business, acting as a direct provider of risk management services including but not limited to:
2. Authoring risk management materials, including articles and presentation;
3. Providing consulting advice to policyholders as needed;
4. Developing educational materials for use by CNA policyholders and internal and external business partners through analysis of claim experience and changes in law, regulation, professional standards, and economic conditions affecting the accounting profession;
5. Presenting to both internal and external CNA clients and policyholders; and
6. Delivering applicable training.
7. Analyze markets to identify risk management resources needed to support the noted line of business, perform product cost analyses, collaborate with business partners to determine product-development initiatives, and develop industry resources.
8. As needed, participate with underwriting and other CNA personnel in new product development, including development of policy forms, endorsements, underwriting applications, and risk management materials related to the introduction of new products.
9. Maintain technical knowledge of delivery of tax preparation and planning services, and the delivery of financial statement services, including external audit, review, and compilation services, under standards issued by the AICPA, Circular 230, and other authorities governing the public accounting profession.
10. Maintain working knowledge of the coverage afforded under the product and the types of claims and lawsuits presented under these policies.
11. Maintain a working knowledge of current laws, regulations, and professional standards applicable to CPAs engaged in the practice of public accountancy.
12. Maintain working knowledge of risk management practices recommended for use by CPAs engaged in the practice of public accountancy to prevent accounting malpractice claims and lawsuits.
13. Effectively collaborate with CNA underwriting, claim, and actuarial staff, as well as CNA’s marketing and distribution partners, to foster a team approach to conducting business.
14. Periodically conduct competitive analyses of risk control services offered in the noted line of business.
15. May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1.The highest level of technical and product specific expertise, risk control evaluation and assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures.

Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred.
2. Typically a minimum ten of years risk control or other relevant professional experience with proven track record of results.
