The Secondary Marketing Analyst II is responsible for providing analytical support to the Secondary Marketing Manager in optimizing the value of mortgages originated by BOKF Mortgage, which will include but> is not limited to participating in the development of business unit strategy by preparing and disseminating daily rate sheets, creating and maintaining databases, creating analytical reports to analyze and communicate key risk metrics and trends that are critical to managing the interest rate risk of loans in the “pipeline” and their related hedges.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creation and distribution of internal rate sheets in adherence with internal and investor pricing parameters, create and maintain a database of loans in the pipeline and the associated hedges, conduct “best execution” analysis and updates to methodology as market conditions change, monitor and report on the risk position of mortgage pipeline and its related hedges, attribute and track product level profitability, and research rate lock modification requests and update system with appropriate and required pricing changes and/or lock extensions.
2. Creates and maintains complex internal and third-party statistical models used to model the pull though rate of mortgages in the pipeline under differing interest rate and macroeconomic scenarios, forecast and analyze production volume and spread trends and create reporting that allow senior business leaders to use this analytics to maximize BOK’s competitive position, project and analyze profitability of mortgage products on the product and channel level, and walk forward mortgage pipeline and hedges.
3. Participate in the development of business strategy by taking a leadership role in conducting additional analysis and forecasting projects as needed to support the strategic decisions made by the business unit. Have the ability to be self-directed and possess interpersonal skills needed to coordinate with other business lines to gather and analyze data.
4. Interfaces with internal and external parties which inlcude investors as required to trouble shoot pricing and delivery issues, BOKM sales force to cater to special pricing requests and resolve pricing related issues, internal risk management and audit, Mortgage Capital Markets Product Manager and senior business line leaders.
5. Serves as backup for transacting in to-be-announced mortgage backed securities and commitments, options, and other derivative trades.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Thorough knowledge of financial modeling and familiarity with the advanced functions in Microsoft Excel
• Advanced knowledge of the principals and application of financial concepts including NPV, IRR, financial valuation and risk measurement; and familiarity with option valuation and return characteristics
• Proven ability with R, Visual Basic, SQL, and/or SAS preferred.
• Solid interpersonal skills including proficient oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare concise executive reports for senior management and to deliver persuasive oral and written arguments to senior management
• Resourceful and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple assignments
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) applicable to the mortgage and banking industry
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or the like and 4+ years of directly related work experience or 7+ years of similar. Mortgage banking experience is helpful, but not required. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
