Position Summary
Provides clerical and telephone support to the Policyholder/Agent service representatives. Under close supervision, interacts with Policyholders and Agents to respond to general inquiries, concerns or complaints regarding various policy issues in a timely and efficient manner. May include inquires related to billing, coverage or cancellation for all lines of property/casualty and/or life business in all states in which The ERIE operates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides clerical support for Policyholder/Agent service representatives in their daily functions, including, but not limited to, follow-up on processing issues for billing, coverage, non-pay and policy changes. Handles incoming mail and fax distribution.
Answers basic Tier I telephone inquiries, such as taking payments and providing ID cards.
Learns and maintains a working knowledge of all processing systems for ERIE's property/casualty and/or life insurance products.
Under close supervision, reviews and responds to general inquiries from Policyholders and Agents involving company policy, billing, policy coverage, nonpayment cancellations, coverage reinstatement due to nonpayment, and policy changes. Forwards complex inquiries to Policyholder/Agent service representatives.
Performs basic accounting functions and corrects errors in computerized accounting system.
Records receipt of all bankruptcy notices and provides any requested Policyholder information to Law Division for response.

Qualifications
High school diploma, or GED, required. Bachelor or associate's degree preferred. Property/casualty or Life insurance and policy accounting experience preferred. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software preferred. Preferred courses or designations: • Intro to Property/Casualty course • General Insurance Program (INS 21, 22, 23) • Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI)
