We are presently looking for anHR Business Partner in our Sherman Oaks, CAoffice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support VP of Talent Management on executing HR deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Provide project, administrative and tactical support on various projects.
• Serve as daily consultant to line management on HR related issues.
• Counsel and advise management on problem resolution and policy interpretation.
• Act as a liaison between employees and various office locations in California, regional business leaders, and Wintrust Mortgage HR team.
• Provide tactical HR support to managers and employees in multiple locations in California regarding staffing, employee relations, payroll, time tracking and other HR related issues.
• Be a main point of contact for California employees & managers on questions related to payroll, benefits, and time keeping.
• Maintain strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws, particularly California employment law. Monitor compliance with all applicable laws.
• Engage with employees on resolution of issues, ensuring fairness, and consistency of practice, alignment with Wintrust policies and procedures, and adherence to all relevant laws.
• Ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk related to employment by investigating employee complaints, interpreting and applying corporate policies with fairness and consistency and, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
• Assist in the onboarding and off-boarding of California employees in all related HR systems & partner with corporate benefits liaison as needed.
• Responsible for recruiting efforts when necessary. This may include updating job descriptions, preparing job postings, reviewing candidate resumes, and conducting interviews.
• Respond to manager and employee questions both timely and accurately.
• Deliver training as needed.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting needs.
• Be front line escalation for VP of Talent Management on emerging employee relations issues in California.
• Engage with all stakeholders with a superior service orientation and quality.
• Keep record & responsible for data entry related to personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, terminations and benefit plan participation.
• Partner with Corporate HR peers as needed on assignments, projects, and tasks.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must physically work from the Wintrust Mortgage office in Sherman Oaks, CA.
• Must possess strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Degree required.
• Minimum of 8+ years of Human Resources related experience in fast paced environment, preferably with some talent management and consulting experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Maintain responsiveness to all employees and managers.
• Effectively prioritizes requests, responds timely, and resolves issues with speed and quality.
• High degree of detail orientation and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Excel, payroll and timekeeping systems, and HRIS systems is a must.
• Regular travel between locations in southern California required. Occasional travel to Chicago Corporate office also required.
