Position Summary:
It is the responsibility of the Director of Field Sales to deliver the profitability, achievement of sales targets and objectives associated with the managed field sales team. The Director of Field Sales is responsible for their assigned sales teams’ productivity, and will direct their efforts in order to achieve the greatest overall impact on company results. The Director of Field Sales manages all aspects of running an effective sales team, including coaching, motivating and holding accountable the members of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the company’s Field Sales team in supporting AGCO and it’s dealers in achieving their respective sales and profit goals
• Proactively monitor sales activity and efforts among field team members, ensuring that the quality and value of sales effort meet company expectations
• Identify current skills among field staff, and work to enhance capabilities through coaching, development and training
• Assist in development and implementation of approved sales programs
• Directs and supports the all company programs and initiatives through consistent implementation
• Professionally and efficiently manage sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service and ensuring dealers’ expectations are being both managed and exceeded
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to execute sales strategies as the company promotes enhancements and/or releases of new products
• Positively impact the performance of individual sales team members by implementing and managing finance support tools, including training programs, finance programs, web based finance solutions, productivity initiatives and customer communication tools.
• Proactively manages member performance to ensure the Field Sales Team provides a work product that consistently adds value for our customers and shareholders
• Lead field finance penetration efforts among the team, ensuring that finance penetration figures reach maximum potential
• Proactively assess, clarify and validate dealer requirements and satisfaction by engaging key dealer accounts in conjunction with respective field staff.
• Provide a management-level point of contact for key dealers. Build and maintain strong dealer relationships
• Establish productive communication and collaboration with AGCO counterparts
• Accountable for thorough implementation of all dealer related initiatives and programs among field staff
• Manage business relationship with dealers in order to increase business, income and profitability in the short and long term while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
• Recruit, onboard and develop new team members
• Identify market segments and target opportunities
Experience / Skill Set Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree, an emphasis in business is preferred
• 5 – 10 years of field sales experience with a demonstrated track record of over-achievement
• Position requires extensive travel
• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Proven ability to develop and initiate strategies to improve sales opportunities
