BKD’s Forensics and Valuation professionals offer a broad perspective on the issues faced by clients when dealing with litigation and valuation issues. We have some of the nation’s leading experts in valuation, business interruption and retention and preservation of documents and electronic data. In addition, we assist attorneys with litigation matters and organizations in avoiding or detecting fraudulent activity.
Our Forensics & Valuation Services group is seeking a manager who would be located in Springfield, MO, Dallas, Kansas City, or Indianapolis.
Responsibilities
• Identify technical problems and offer potential solutions to those problems.
• Apply technical research skills needed to gather, organize, summarize and interpret data to arrive at a conclusion.
• Investigate information to complete projects, such as analysis of fraudulent transactions, reconstruction of financial statements, analysis of complex transactions, etc.
• Perform complex and detailed analysis of financial documents for use in lost profits, economic damages, and similar analyses.
• Assist in business valuation analysis and research.
• Draft sections and/or entire expert reports and other communications required in litigation support projects.
• Assist in review and supervision of work performed by less experienced team members.
• Review work papers, expert reports, and other communications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm and professional standards and applicable judicial requirements.
• Build and develop relationships, and over time build and manage a book of business that meet goals and objectives of the practice unit.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA required.
• 2+ years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or internal auditing required.
• Experience in public accounting or extensive internal audit experience is required.
• Good organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in ACL a plus.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage project timeliness.
• Writes clearly, concisely and effectively. Edits work prepared by others quickly and efficiently. Communicates in a timely, clear, relevant, and accurate manner; writing experience preferred.
• Ability to propose innovative, alternative approaches and procedures.
• Thinks “outside the box”.
• Is relentless in search for the answer.
• Some travel required.
• Willingness to adapt to urgent situations.
Candidates with additional experience may be considered for a more senior role.
