Wealth Management Operations
Global Wealth Management Operations provides brokerage, investment and financial services to hundreds of thousands of individual investors. We apply our expertise in serving institutional clients to create new opportunities for people to achieve their personal financial goals. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest retail brokerage networks, with numerous worldwide representatives and retail locations. Our services are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance and annuities.
The Director within Margin is responsible for becoming a Subject Matter Expert and providing operational support to the department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to,
Management of audit requests including pulling requested data and ensuring completion and accuracy prior to submission
Reduction of dependencies on production for some streams of workflow enhancements
Centralization of regulatory oversight, procedures, and WSPs to ensure proper controls are documented
Assistance in implementation of risk guided procedural enhancements, entitlement controls, and WSP evaluations
Leading testing events which include creation of test scripts, owner of entitlements, and management of team of testers
Creation of presentations for proposed, in progress, and completed projects
Maintaining a governance model which both tracks and ensures resolution of risk related issues
Additionally, the Director is responsible for providing support in day to day production oversight. The individual is part of a team of analysts and associates with responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Monitoring the daily activities of cash and margin accounts to ensure compliance with the regulations of the Federal Reserve Board (Regulation-T), FINRA, and Morgan Stanleys own internal credit policies
Ensure customer accounts with outstanding regulatory exceptions are brought into compliance regarding Regulation-T, FINRA, and Firm requirements
Issuing of maintenance calls on accounts that fall below minimum margin requirements
Filing extensions with FINRA on open trades
Qualifications
Business Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required
Knowledge of Regulation T and FINRA rules
Ability to use appropriate analysis, judgment, and logic when solving problems & making decisions
Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
Ability to listen and communicate effectively with others both verbally and written
Self-motivated and willing to assume responsibility
Ability to relate well with others and build relationships
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience in VISIO a plus
