The position of Personal Banking Officer is responsible for providing a full range of banking services to individual and business customers, with emphasis on personal and business financial needs and customer service. Meets with customers to discuss financial needs; expands existing account relationships with new products and services.
Responsible for increasing deposit growth for the Bank. Responsible for account retention.
The position of Personal Banking Officer may also be required to accompany lending officers on business calls.
Responsibilities
• Interviews and profiles new and existing customers to determine their financial needs; assists customers in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services from the Bank.
• Actively increases the number of products and services used by current Bank customers.
• Actively cross-sells a full range of Bank products and services to customers by applying professional sales techniques.
• Interviews customers to obtain information; establishes proper identification of new customers; gathers required CIP documentation.
• Discusses Treasury Management (TM) products when appropriate; makes referral to TM; follows through after referral.
• Makes decisions regarding the opening of new accounts; completes forms requiring customer signature(s); accepts initial deposits; prepares all documents and items pertaining to all products for processing.
• Assists clients and resolves problems within given authority and in a timely manner.
• Accompanies lending officers on customer calls to set up accounts on site and explain the Bank products and services to the existing customer or potential new customer.
• Makes presentations in one-on-one or small groups to customers and other employees of the Bank.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and training - OR -
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and seven (7) years related experience, education and/or training.
• Work related experience must consist of a broad background in branch operations and proven ability to develop external customer relationships in the financial services industry.
• Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
• Advanced knowledge of Bank policies and procedures and the Bank’s products and services.
• Extensive level of work experience, knowledge and training in all bank products and services including merchant services, cash managements, deposit products, loan products, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
• Proven ability to make one-on-one and group presentations of Bank products and services to internal and external customers.
