What You'll Do/Need
Position Summary
In this newly created position and reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Manager, D&I and Community Relations [CR] will build, lead and develop a D&I and Community Relations center of excellence [CoE] for Bedrock. The Manager will promote cross cultural competence, engagement and workforce diversity, and will foster an inclusive environment.
In collaboration with business leaders and the Human Resources team, this team member will enhance the organization's competitive position by utilizing a consultative approach focused on effective messaging coupled with relevant data and market trends that will drive change. The position involves applying a comprehensive and consultative in-depth working knowledge of financial/business concepts, practices, processes and procedures to a complex range of assignments.
Position Responsibilities
• Develop strategic partnerships with the Leadership team, HR business partners and other internal customers to identify diversity, inclusion and engagement initiatives that foster organizational learning and address corporate strategic goals and needs
• Guide the organization through the management and execution of strategic diversity and inclusion actions
• Review and recommend enhancements to diversity and inclusion strategy and plans to generate relevant, measurable results
• Recommend metrics and processes used to measure and fine tune diversity and inclusion activities
• Assess the impact of diversity and inclusion initiatives, alignment to vision/values, barriers and synergies
• Provide ongoing support to the organization’s leadership team on diversity and inclusion
• Provide guidance, oversight and management to maximize contributions to the company's short- and long-term business strategies
• Support the development of integrated strategies for talent management of a diverse leadership pipeline
• Provide diversity and inclusion coaching and development to senior leaders within the organization
• Consult with HR and business leaders to develop and integrate analytics driven by diversity and inclusion strategies into business line plans as well as measure and evaluate effectiveness of initiatives
• Research and recommend team member surveys that support simple yet effective solutions that provide external and internal benchmarking, enable business ownership, provide effective reporting and have the appropriate measures to track progress around our culture
• Collaborate with the Director, Integrated Talent Management [TMI], to create company-wide training to promote cultural understanding, competency and inclusion
• Provide support to the FOC’s Diversity Councils initiatives including multicultural events and programs
• Build Community Relations – lead the creation and development of comprehensive community relations and philanthropic strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maintaining best practices with our FOC partnership
• Explore new Community Relations programming and consistently evaluate current platforms
• Develop fully integrated communications plan in collaboration with our FOC partners and marketing partners
• Develop a targeted communications strategy to facilitate ongoing community dialogues
• Gather, research and analyze data for use in statistical calculations and reporting in order to meet federal and state requirements, including creating workforce analysis reports
• Assist Talent Acquisition with the development of recruitment strategies in support of our diversity and inclusion hiring initiatives
• Develop an integrated plan to ensure the insights of colleague input are advanced through business practices, company messaging and actions.
• Establish key performance indicators [KPIs] and develop metrics to track execution, monitor progress against key change management deliverables and measure success of the change strategies
• Support project teams in integrating change management activities into project plans
Position Requirements
• An undergraduate degree in human resources management or public policy is required; a master’s degree and/or HR certification[s] are a plus
• 10 years of experience working in areas of diversity, inclusion and/or supplier diversity
• Experience with, or working in collaboration and in support of, inclusion through development – previous HRBP experience is an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Equal Employment Opportunity legislation
• Demonstrated experience working with and leading teams that collaborate with other organizations across the company
• Demonstrated knowledge of other HR disciplines (outreach, talent acquisition, talent management and leadership development, total rewards, workforce planning, )
• Proven track record of creating and implementing diversity and inclusion solutions that achieve organizational success
• Fundamental understanding of business strategy and how to link diversity and inclusion and HR initiatives to business activities.
• Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and turn that analysis into actionable solutions
• Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning
• Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and HCM platforms, such as Workday
• Willingness to work and integrate with multiple partners
• Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities while being agile and adaptable
• Demonstrated integration and strategic planning skills
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
