Business Overview:
Advisory Americas delivers advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, primary and secondary equity capital markets transactions as well as equity private placements. The team includes over 80 bankers located in New York, San Francisco, Mexico City, Bogota, São Paulo and Santiago de Chile. Within M&A North America, the team is organized along seven primary industry groups: Materials / Minerals / Mining, Power & Utilities, General Industrials & Middle Market Financial Sponsors, Consumer, Financial Institutions, Chemicals and TMT. Within M&A Latin America, the team is based in New York and in Latin America, organized geographically along four regions: Mexico, Brazil, Andean Region and Southern Cone, and covers all industries. Our Equity Capital Markets team operates out of New York and executes transactions in all industries. It covers both North and Latin America. Finally, Equity Private Placement provides advisory services for all BNPP clients in the Americas.
Responsibilities:
• Overview. Manage the origination and execution of advisory activities in the Power & Utilities sector
• Execution. Manage the day-to-day operations of all aspects of an M&A transaction for buy-side and sell-side transactions (i.e., preparation of information materials, financial analyses, coordination with outside lawyers / accountants, assisting the team with client matters on a day-to-day basis, etc.)
• Origination. Manage the entire process of the preparation of origination materials (including writing industry themes, market updates and financial analyses) as well as playing a pivotal role in presenting ideas in meetings
• Relationship Building. The Vice President will work closely with Associates and Analysts on transactions, marketing, research, pitch preparation, and deal execution. The primary focus will be idea generation and transaction, execution as well as overall team leadership and mentoring
Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• 6+ years of relevant M&A, Project Finance (or other structured industry transaction experience) or other Power & Utility, Renewable specialized roles, preferably in a bulge bracket or large boutique investment banking
Preferred Qualifications:
• Geographically based within the NY metro area
• Significant M&A transaction experience, with a broad corporate finance skillset, in the Power & Utilities sector and direct experience assisting in the origination and execution of M&A transactions
• Relevant experience and knowledge of the renewables industry
• Possesses industry-specific subject matter expertise in the Power & Utilities sector
• Globally orientated to support cross-border corporate finance activity (i.e., referrals, origination and execution opportunities) across US, Europe and Asia
• Exceptional client service skills, and superior people skills to ensure constructive dialogue and positive cooperation both internally and externally
• Ability to assist in the identification of cross-sell opportunity to fully penetrate BNPP products to clients
• Team player, self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability and willingness to guide and train more junior team members
• Strong financial modelling capabilities and in-depth knowledge of corporate finance theory
• Client-focused, deal-driven, credible, and a highly energetic professional
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• High level of intellect, professionalism, and integrity
