Seasoned professional to create and manage independent risk oversight of an $150 billion-plus private commercial real estate, private corporate, public corporate, sovereign, municipal, structured finance, and whole loan residential mortgage investment portfolio within TIAA’s Enterprise Risk Management.
The successful candidate will oversee the risk ratings for all private and public corporate investments and actively engage business partners and enhance credit risk rating quality. She or He will lead portfolio and investment risk analytics including sensitivity tests, stress testing and develop analytics or models to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
Create and Operate rating oversight process in corporate or commercial real estate mortgage.
Assess, validate, and override the initial risk ratings.
Develop random sampling logic by materiality.
Review/Challenge rating model inputs and assumptions.
Manage and operate monthly/quarterly risk rating summary reporting process.
Challenge risk ratings to the first line stakeholders and develop a formal escalation process for risk rating conflicts.
Establish and manage policy/SOP for rating oversight process.
Perform large/complex investment reviews and oversight to minimize idiosyncratic losses.
Develop risk rating methodologies for non-standard transactions and assign ratings.
Lead monthly/quarterly rating review meetings with fixed income research team and portfolio managers.
Identify emerging risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Required Education:
BA/BS
Credit professional with 10 plus years in commercial real estate or corporate
10 plus years of credit risk analysis
Preferred:
Risk modeling, statistical analysis, simulations/optimizations, credit and investment risk underwriting
Master in Accounting, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Real Estate, or Risk Management
