Summary
The Investment Reporting Analyst, Accountant is a multi-discipline role which encompasses investment and accounting knowledge across public and private asset classes. The position is responsible for providing a wide range of portfolio and security-level investment reporting, analysis and accounting with a heavy focus on Private Equity operational support.
Private Equity Support:
• Executes Private Investment Fund accounting, financial reporting and management reporting
• Ensure activity between the custodian and accounting system reconciles and correct any discrepancies
• Prepare monthly reconciliation workpapers and other ad hoc reports as needed
• Calculates and analyzes private investment asset valuations
• Assist with annual GAAP audits and tax preparation
Reporting Support:
• Assembles executive management and board reporting materials
• Assembles and validates comparative investment performance reporting
• Assembles and validates portfolio risk and analytics reporting
• Develops and maintains investment reports using reporting and query tools
• Compiles information for industry surveys
Required Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline, or equivalent training and experience required
• CFA or master's degree preferred
Other Critical Factors
• Experience working under tight time frames with competing demands
• Proficiency in Excel highly desirable
• Experience with software used to assemble, evaluate, interpret and analyze financial data
• Desire to learn and understand investment business and processes
• Knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles for investments
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
