The Commercial Relationship Manager IV is primarily responsible for making and servicing business and individual loans that involve significant amounts of both secured and unsecured funds and/or credit secured, which are the most complex in nature. Handles the largest, most profitable customer relationships within the dept. Provides subordinate officers with functional guidance.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitors and manages existing credit relationships which includes note renewals, reviewing and detailed analysis of current financial statements and collateral valuations, credit analysis, cash flow analysis, delinquency reporting, documenting exceptions, and covenant monitoring; compiles reports necessary to monitor asset and credit quality and compliance with policy/regulation.
2. Negotiates loan proposals; analyzes and evaluates credit requests and writes loan commitments; recommends appropriate credit grade; makes oral presentation to loan committee; implements approval or declination action.
3. Develops new business through identifying and calling on existing or prospective customers; promotes and cross-sell Bank’s services; works with Bank operation areas to ensure that quality service is provided.
4. Facilitates resolution of operational problems for customer across divisional lines.
5. Serves as the primary linkage for all financial services to the individual client with the Bank (i.e., Treasury Services, International, Trust and Cash Vault).
6. Researches overdrafts and outgoing wire transfers and determines appropriate action; implements approval or denial action.
7. Participates in community and professional activities in order to enhance Bank’s image and expand personal network of business contacts for development of new business.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial lending practices and loan documentation, and loan servicing requirements
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Demonstrated capacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry
• Extensive understanding of credit underwriting, documentation, loan policy, and regulations
• Extensive knowledge of financial analysis including ratio and trend analysis and projections
• Specialized knowledge of specific markets in order to serve defined territories
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations
• Good PC skills including knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years experience in commercial lending or 14-16 years equivalent experience.
