Role Value Proposition:
The Institutional Income Annuity Pricing group is a diverse team of financial professionals utilizing underwriting and financial expertise to create innovative solutions that address our groups customers’ retirement income needs. This role will engage with our business partners to deliver world class service to our group annuity customers by providing group annuity quotations, responding to benefit change inquiries and requests, providing pricing and underwriting support for new product or benefit features, and generally contributing to overall organizational process improvement of our core functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide annuity quotes for institutional clients. Managing quote response process, including communication with sales staff and providing timely responses to product related questions.
• Develop pricing and other calculation tools. Develop calculation spreadsheets and other miscellaneous calculation tools.
• Manages and conducts research projects and communicates finding to others under minimal supervision.
• Prepares and review annuity benefit calculations.
• Generate financial reports. Be able to troubleshoot results and revise any calculations and valuation methodologies as needed.
• Participate in the pricing, reserving, and risk evaluation functions.
• Acts as a liaison to other departments; build effective relationships with business partners; work on special projects as assigned.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• 3+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry working in a high volume/high producing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree (Math, Finance, or Actuarial Science preferred).
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skill set.
Preferred:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Able to work effectively independently and as a team player.
• Able to complete task with minimal supervision and proactively resolve roadblocks to completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Access), experience with mainframe systems and internal software programs.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of insurance products, actuarial concepts and actuarial calculation methodologies is highly preferred.
• Able to identify and meet customer needs.
• Working knowledge of VBA preferred.
