Mortgage Post-Closing Assistant

Job Description
Typical business work hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, some overtime may be required. As a Mortgage Post-Closing Assistant you will be expected to demonstrate a sense of urgency, willingness to work closely with others, and be part of a team whose primary focus is service to our customers, and investors as you will be their main point of contact. This is a non-exempt position.
Purpose:
The Mortgage Post-Closing Assistant is accountable for pulling reports, contacting specified title companies and for receipt of outstanding documents. Supports the Post-Closing Department by assisting them in meeting investor and agency guidelines. Obtains missing information, prepares files and provides support to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions/Duties:
1 – General daily tasks such as print & copy jobs, mailing letters and filing.
2 – Performs various administrative & support functions including adherence to RESPA.
3 – Scan files and uploads documents into electronic database folders.
4 – Performs daily wire reconciliations.
5 – Helps prepare and gather documentation for loan files.
6 – Provide servicing and secondary daily purchase advices.
7 – Provide copies of final closing documents to investors as necessary.
8 – Assist with obtaining “trailing documents” (i.e. final title policy, recorded mortgages, etc.)
9 – Protect Company’s reputation and image by maintaining Borrower confidence; deliver a high-level of customer service by keeping mortgage loan information confidential.
10 – Honesty and integrity in dealing with others and accountability in standing behind your work; initiative and self-motivation in serving the client, getting the job completed thoroughly and on time; ability to listen to others and understand their needs; confidence in yourself and enthusiasm regarding your service. Organizational skills in having the ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at the same time.
12 – Other duties as assigned.
Required & Preferred Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, some college preferred; College degree desired.
• Intermediate computer proficiency skills with MS Office software including Excel and Mortgage Loan Applications/Software) Encompass 360 desired.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent work experience in mortgage loan support or processing; three (3) years’ of work experience in mortgage loan industry desired.
• Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize daily workloads, problem-solver and able to work overtime as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills; written and oral communication skills and ability to demonstrate control, flexibility and maintain quality and high productivity when dealing with internal and external customers and changing work demand.
• Knowledge of current federal and state regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
