Job Summary:
The Loan Servicing Manager will lead staff under the principles of the Loan Operations Mission Statement while adhering to policies and procedures with an emphasis on system quality control. This position requires adequate training and cross training of staff. The applicant must have the ability to cross train employees with effective leadership skills. Identifies and escalates issues to Loan Operations Manager when the Bank is facing reputational, financial or credit risk. These issues may require cooperation with Corporate or any other specialized departments, i.e. Managed Assets Department and Finance.
Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor performance of the team members and manage the workflow of the unit to ensure that service level agreements are being maintained.
• Administer annual performance reviews.
• Track and report volume summaries to Loan Operations Manager on a regular basis.
• Establish individual performance goals.
• Delegate and assign items based on priority and urgency.
• Manage Unit coverage to ensure that we are properly staffed.
• Establish and initiate standards and procedures to ensure that proper structure and codes of all loan transactions entered are based on procedures, FIS recommendations or best practices.
• Review procedures and work flow for improvement and changes. Frequent interface with finance, compliance, internal/external audit and other lending personnel regarding process and performance.
• Exhibit in-depth knowledge about general business practices and understand corporate governance concepts.
• Responsible for processing Bank Control and mass-field changes and 1099’s to comply with IRs Regulations.
• Prepare job requisitions for open permanent and temporary positions within the Loan Servicing Unit. Work closely with Human Resources Recruiter to identify qualified candidates and coordinate interviews.
• Responsible for processing Bank Control, mass-field changes and 1099’s reporting to comply with the IRS Regulations.
• Communicate all regulatory and procedure initiations or changes to the Loan Servicing Unit and lines of business.
• Participate in companywide efficiency initiative to ensure efficient processes across all departments.
• Provide backup support to Loan Servicing Team Managers, as needed.
• Participate and assist with any system conversions, maintenance or enhancements.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Wintrust brand.
Qualifications
• Advanced knowledge of systems including Insight, Bank Control, StorQM, BIC and Microsoft, etc.
• This job requires superior organizational skills combined with excellent analytical and logistical problem solving skills. The candidate must be seasoned, comfortable and adept at planning, implementing and follow-up to ensure consistent performance results and successful deployment of resources to achieve long term goals.
• An extensive knowledge of commercial, consumer lending and real estate loan documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Coaching and development of staff member experience required.
• Superior, professional verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and concisely with senior management, colleagues, and customers as well as outside agencies on a regular basis.
• Capable of working in high stress, fast-paced production environment while maintaining a courteous and professional corporate level demeanor with a deadline driven sense of urgency and creative ability to multi-task during periods of intense pressure.
