We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join a burgeoning valuation/advisory practice. You will be working directly with the firm’s practice leader, clients, executives and business owners to deliver business valuation services. The firm’s Valuation and Advisory Services group provides valuation opinions (buy/sell agreements, ESOPs), valuations for tax reporting (e.g. 409A, gift/estate), valuations for financial reporting (e.g. ASC 805, 350, 718), and advisory services related to mergers and acquisitions.
Ideal candidates will have a background in either: (a) corporate FP&A, with experience in developing long-term plans and presentations at the board-level; (b) corporate M&A, with experience identifying/analyzing companies for acquisition; or (c) direct business valuation or economic damages valuation experience.
Responsibilities
• Interfacing directly with business owners and senior executives to gather and synthesize financial and qualitative information within sophisticated financial models.
• Performing business and financial due diligence, and conducting industry and sub-sector research.
• Working cross-functionally with the firm’s tax and audit teams to assist client engagements.
• Assisting the audit team with fair value issues by reviewing third-party valuation reports.
• Developing, improving and maintaining excel-based valuation templates.
• Preparing reports and/or presentations summarizing our assumptions, methodologies and conclusions.
• Publishing industry data for marketing purposes.
Requirements
• Exceptional financial modeling skills.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, solid research and analytical skills, and the ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment.
• Significant proficiency in an industry-vertical well-aligned with the firm’s industry groups.
• Strong project management skills; including experience overseeing junior staff on engagements
• Ability to think creatively - with minimal instructions at times - to keep engagements on schedule.
• Practical and/or academic familiarity with corporate financial and valuation theories.
