The incumbent is responsible for the timely review, validation, and mailing of client deposit, loan, and bond interest statements. He/she ensures the timely testing of all vendor application module updates, reviews and corrects invalid tax payer data, and ensures the accurate and timely submission of required data to the federal government to avoid the imposition of corporate penalties. He/she conducts training for branch personnel on new account opening requirements and ensures the correct titling of deposit and loan accounts for interest reporting. The position holder must maintain an in-depth knowledge of laws governing the reporting to various state boards of overdrafts and interest on IOLTA accounts. The incumbent must also regularly interface with internal legal counsel, Compliance, and Tax Accounting representatives in an effort to ensure that the business line is in compliance with regulatory changes governing the reporting of interest. He/she interacts with Product management and the 3rd party vendor on enhancements to the Account Analysis system.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in banking operations and/or tax reporting. Excellent understanding of government regulations with respect to interest reporting. Knowledge of deposit and loan systems interfaces. Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills required. Bachelor s degree preferred. Must have excellent PC skills.
