This FP&A Specialist will be a member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team as we have two new openings, one is specifically working on and supporting the Retirement Plan Services(RPS) business line, and the second supports our Group Benefits/Group Protection (GP) business unit. S/he will prepare, analyze and report on business line forecasted and actual results and provide management with a financial perspective for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. These roles offer high visibility working directly with Senior Leadership and have room for growth in a dynamic team with a great culture (please check out our website).
Responsibilities
• Prepares and analyzes RPS or GP monthly & quarterly earnings memo and dashboards that includes financial statements, key performance drivers, analysis of key business trends and delivering explanations of earnings drivers and variances.
• Prepares, analyzes and presents on financial information and earnings across multiple basis of accounting and reporting for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Gain an understanding of and be able to perform segment specific responsibilities such as activity reporting and analysis, fee income rate analysis, interest margin analysis and commissions analysis.
• Interact and communicate with Finance and business line financial management, including senior management.
• Contributes to the continued development of analysis, forecasting and modeling tools.
• Performs and delivers on routine assignments while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides support to financial analysis team members in the preparation and delivery of financial information for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Identifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides support to financial analysis team members in the preparation and delivery of financial information for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Education
• 4 Year/Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) (Minimum Required)
Experience
• 1-3+ years of experience in Financial Analysis or comparable fields.
• Experience working with Essbase, Hyperion and SAP Business Objects a preferred
• Strong analytical skills
• Confident and comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Strong project management skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). #LI-AY1
