Job Summary:
Responsible for generating new asset based finance relationships through external referral sources, including private equity and intermediaries, as well as internally through coverage of the Wholesale and Regional bank platforms. The BDO will be responsible for sourcing and structuring and manage the closing of new business within the Asset-Based Finance group. This role will focus on the Southern California market with some travel within the Southwestern United States.
Major Responsibilities:
• Establish Customer Relationships with asset based lending needs,
• Self-generate potential new business leads and develop a strong rapport with existing clients to expand current business,
• Work closely with collateral management to make sure that borrowing base information is accurate.
• Communicate frequently with either customers or agent banks to understand trends, emerging risks, etc.
• Build relationships with borrowers by being proactive and extremely responsive,
• Work closely with RM’s to support customer needs,
Qualifications
We Require:
• A minimum of a BA or BS; an MBA is preferred.
• Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years of experience in Asset Based Finance.
• Strong Credit skills and the ability to structure potential transactions in Asset Based Finance.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship development and selling skills.
• Strong presentation, listening, verbal, and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of underwriting of direct and agent transactions within bank's target market.
• Demonstrated ability to understand credit structures, credit analysis and negotiate asset based credit transactions, often involving multiple providers of debt and capital.
• Satisfactory team leadership skills, willingness to both lead and participate in deal teams.
• Proficiency in relevant PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; and Internet and other relevant software programs.
