POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supervisor of REO Claims will be responsible to develop and maintain oversight of the Private and Agency investor claim processes. It will be the responsibility of this individual to ensure and maintain compliance standards that are in accordance with Agency and Private investor guidelines with respect to pre-foreclosure and post –foreclosure claim processes. Provide weekly and monthly status and metric reporting on the claim processes to Servicing leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises daily operations of the REO Claims Representatives which includes oversight of the team’s claim submission, pipeline reports, close out /write-off processes and related processes necessary to assist in the completion/submission of REO Claims.
• Ensure compliance with REO departmental policies, procedures, and investors guidelines. Supports research and resolution of remaining expense on a loan after receipt of investor claim proceeds
• Handles escalated calls from foreclosure attorneys, title vendors, and default servicing.
• Ensure adherence to internal service levels relating to customer service and processing timeframes.
• Manages relationship with outsource vendors, and ensure compliance with SLAs and effective process, procedures, and turn times.
• Manages book loss calculations, loan closeout processing, and loss tracking and reporting.
• Assists with the procurement of documentation for investor claim submission
• Manage team performance by utilizing coaching and counseling methods in conjunction with the semi-annual and annual performance management process.
• Provide training, guidance, performance feedback, coaching and counseling to the individual employees within the REO claims department.
• Actively identify opportunities and take action to build strategic relationships cross-organizationally to help achieve business goals
• Partner and effectively communicate with internal departments across all levels within Servicing to fulfill business objectives.
• Responsible for special projects as assigned by management
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Minimum 5 years mortgage banking or mortgage default experiences required.
• Investor claim experience preferred but not required.
• Must have productive work habits, ability to handle multiple tasks and strong project management skills
• Minimum 3-5 years in a senior level role, preferred
ABILITIES
• Time management, organizational skills, strong interpersonal and strong written and verbal skills are required.
• Detail oriented, highly organized
• Ability to lead a team of individuals as well as provide training, coaching and performance feedback
• Must be able to assume personal ownership for performance and proactively anticipate situations that require a plan of action with limited to no direction
