Operations Risk Model Risk Management Senior Associate – Business Risk Services

The candidate will foster internal collaboration, design best leading industry practices in model risk management and be a leader and an active subject matter expert in client engagements. The position requires an ability to conduct client evaluation of model risk management governance, expertise in model development, validation, testing and benchmarking for financial services and companies with exposure to credit, market or operational risks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization)
• Assist practice leadership in creating proposals, budgets, and work plans. Participate in other business development activities as appropriate
• Participate in model risk management, governance and model validation projects across financial services industry. Particularly in the areas of CCAR, DFAST (stress testing models), Basel, AML and fraud models, and ALLL.
• Familiarity with at least one of the following: credit loss forecasting models (NCO, PD, LGD), PPNR, time series, linear regression models and statistical sampling techniques.
• Support CoE activities, design model risk management practices, model development and validation methodologies, training and use cases.
• Demonstrate some proven abilities and success with utilizing an analytical mind-set and creative problem-solving abilities when applying regulatory requirements in a business environment and model risk management areas.
• Demonstrate some proven abilities and success as a team member; understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
• 2 to 6 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level.
• Post graduate degree in Statistics, Economics/Econometrics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or related disciplines preferable
• Associate in Financial Risk Management (FRM) certification highly desired
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Big 4 or related consulting experience
• Ability to interface with internal and external clients
• Demonstrate understanding and practical experience in the areas of model risk management including model development
• Demonstrate general understanding of current regulatory guidance i.e. SR 11-7, SR 15-18
• Excellent verbal and writing skills
• Practical experience designing and developing analytical models and analyzing large datasets
• A minimum 4 years of experience in model risk management, model validation, model testing
• Hands-on experience with analytical and modeling tools such as SAS, R, Matlab
• Asset liability management
• Ability to work additional hours and/or travel as needed.
Additional Information:
• Travel 75% - 85%
• Location: New York, Charlotte, or Chicago (national role with extensive travel)
