The Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing engagements and high impact spot buys for a variety of services and commodities for the firm. The selected individual will continuously improve procurement processes for the firm and manage procurement work using a disciplined approach which aligns with existing priorities. Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide expert strategic sourcing support and leadership for all aspects of procurement projects with a specific focus on services.
• Achieve savings by improving internal processes and procedures, implementing supply chain efficiencies, understanding and reducing total cost of ownership, and balancing the overall cost, quality, and effectiveness for purchased products and services.
• Assist various internal stakeholders in managing existing supplier relationships to ensure best-in-class vendor relationship management, continued price to market favorability, and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and other obligations.
• Support ongoing firm growth while increasing quality and range of available services.
• Support and/or lead the analysis, selection, implementation, management and use of process automation, including eProcurement, Contract Lifecycle Management and eSourcing as applicable to add efficiencies, increase effectiveness, and contain costs for the firm’s expenditures.
• Design new, update existing, and support the implementation and administration of policies and procedures related to the sourcing process.
• Develop and maintain reporting for KPIs and improvement metrics related to sourcing activities.
• Lead sourcing engagements with internal stakeholders from various areas of the firm.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, supply chain management or other related business field or equivalent business experience.
• Minimum of 10 years business experience with the majority to include exposure to supply chain concepts and methodologies in a business environment.
• Minimum of 7 years independently responsible for leading Sourcing programs for large businesses with strong focus on contract and price negotiations.
• Proven abilities and experience in services procurement and contract negotiations.
• Expert and demonstrable knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practices and issues.
• Ability to simultaneously and efficiently manage and communicate on multiple changing priorities with a variety of stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead all phases of the acquisition process for high dollar, high impact procurement projects.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication, including proven ability to comfortably interact with all levels of leadership, including one-on-one interaction with CIO, CFO, and Firm Partners.
• Must possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend automation opportunities.
• A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to plan, create and execute own ideas.
• A high level of comfort with the ambiguity and uncertainty that comes with rapid growth and change.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
