Overview
Our Client, a Non-Profit Organization Ridgefield Park, NJ is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. The primary purpose of the Senior Accountant is for the coordination and execution of account daily accounting journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly accounting close.
Essential Duties
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure general ledger accounts are accurate by performing reconciliations and analytics. This includes an understanding of the functions and transactions that drive the journal entries to the account, as well as identifying, documenting, and clearing reconciling items on a timely basis.
• Supports the preparation of internal and external reports, including financial statements, regulatory, budget, audit, and ad hoc reports as needed.
• Prepares journal entries as required to help complete monthly closings and preparations of financial statements.
• Supports the preparation of internal and external reports, including financial statements, regulatory, budget, audit, and additional reports as needed.
• Supports the finance team in conducting business performance analytics. Works with Accounting Manager in continual improvement of relevant analysis and identifies improvements to programs and business units.
• Maintains appropriate sections of the Finance department policy manual. Maintenance includes identification and documentation of new policies and procedures and review of old policies for accuracy.
• Works with the Financial Controller to ensure sound accounting practices and adequate internal controls.
• Promotes and demonstrates a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management and vendors.
• Keeps abreast of industry developments, including but not limited to, changes in regulations and technology.
• Ensures adherence to the Organizations policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required,
• Three to five years’ experience. Accounting experience required.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong decision making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.
• Trustworthy with the ability to maintain highest level of integrity and trust.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
