Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of the Management Reporting team in the Financial Services Organization (FSO), this position will aide in the implementation of new tools and strategies to streamline the delivery of reporting packages. The individual will need to bring critical data organizational skills to support on-going process improvement efforts. In addition, the role will partner with internal business partners to enhance existing reports and develop new deliverables.
Main Responsibilities
• Implement strategies to organize various sources of data into a form where it can be leveraged to create consistent reporting utilizing Excel
• Drive efficiency through the use of new tools and processes
• Enhance existing reporting packages with new analytical views
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics
• MBA a plus
• Advanced PowerPoint skills
• Advanced Excel skills (ex. Pivot Tables, index/sumifs/vlookup formulas, etc.)
• Experience with or working knowledge of multi-dimensional management reporting databases (ex. Essbase, Cognos, TM1, etc.)
• Experience with data visualization/dashboarding tools (ex. Qlikview, Tableau, WDesk, etc.)
• Experience creating management-level reporting documents tailored to a specific audience
• Ability to work with multiple data sources and propose solutions to streamline data capture and aggregation
• Strong written/verbal communication and business partnering skills

**Total surplus, which includes the Asset Valuation Reserve, is one of the key indicators of the company’s long-term financial strength and stability and is presented on a consolidated basis of the company.
1. Operating earnings is the key measure use by management to track Company’s profitability from ongoing operations and underlying profitability of the business. This indicator is based on generally accepted accounting principles in the US (GAAP), with certain adjustments Company believes to be appropriate as a measurement approach (non GAAP), primarily the removal of gains or losses on investments and related adjustments.
2. Assets under management represent Consolidated Domestic and International insurance Company Statutory assets (cash and invested assets and separate account assets) and third party assets principally managed by New York Life Investment management Holdings LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company.
