Investment Services includes the Investment Product Group of Capital Group. Its mission is to represent our investment process, thinking and competitive advantages in a compelling manner. The team works closely with sales leadership to identify and meet the needs of our sales force while leveraging media and technology to creatively deliver our investment process and philosophy.
As a Senior Product Specialist, you will partner with Product Managers in developing and rolling out new capabilities; continuously evaluating product performance to ensure successful implementation, and recommending changes as appropriate, while supporting an existing product line by maintaining product information, and consulting on product inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a subject matter expert and consult with various internal groups (e.g., sales, service, and external clients) regarding product inquiries and enhancement requests.
• Consider associate/client perspective, as well as product construction and pricing, operational policies, service model and sales and marketing approach, to identify issues, options, and/or desired outcomes and recommends appropriate solution or approach.
• Identify trends in issues/questions received, and make recommendations to address them (e.g., training, system enhancements).
• Assess exception requests against product definition and objectives; identify and approve exceptions, as appropriate, or facilitate exception review and processing.
• Participate in projects impacting a product line.
• Partner with Product Managers to create, analyze and develop product plans, business cases and performance reports.
• Ensure product information is accurately represented in product catalog as well as training documents, literature (e.g., sales material, forms), and online.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years in-depth knowledge of product construction, rules and regulations, sales and marketing approach, and services offered. Exhibits knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
• Ability to develop both product and project plans with little direction and to execute in a collaborative manner with extreme attention to detail.
• Demonstrate sound judgment in resolving matters of moderate complexity.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and analytical skills with the ability to develop recommendations and support assertions.
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills with team members and managers.
• Ability to influence groups and/or more senior associates.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, MBA a plus.
