Develop and manage marketing and communications programs that increase sales to, and retention of, profitable customers or enhance relationships with The Standard’s channel partners. Manage the planning and execution of marketing programs, which may include a variety of marketing communications and promotional activities. Manage cross functional teams and/or vendors in execution of programs. Develop collaborative working relationships with business unit stakeholders and marketing colleagues. Develop and maintain regular communications with business stakeholders. Manage marketing programs to a budget.
As warranted identify and manage external vendors.
Plan and execute effective marketing programs that support marketing objectives. Define requirements for programs and track metrics of success. Optimize programs on an ongoing basis.
Provide project management and cross-functional team leadership for execution of assigned marketing programs. Define scope and objectives, secure commitment of resources, assign and monitor tasks, review copy and design development, obtain approval from stakeholders. Provide final approval of program deliverables as directed by Director.
Develop plans within assigned programs to align with departmental marketing campaigns including product and service launches, awareness activities and other promotions.
Responsibilities
Account Management:
• Develop relationships company-wide to provide or obtain information. Will consult with management.
• Develops strong day-to-day working relationships with BU leaders, market liaisons or imbedded marketers.
• Able to listen to and address client’s needs.
• Has ability to conceive and sell marketing ideas; rapidly learn details of new products, services and business ventures; comprehends legal concerns and effectively balance these with business objectives;
• Creates or edits call reports, monthly reports that clearly communicate the programs goals, status, results and next steps.
• Negotiates with stakeholders including vendors and business partners to reach consensus on concepts and execution of programs; maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders and co-workers.
• Proven ability to readily grasp, organize and present concepts to internal stakeholders.
• Shares work and results with stakeholders and team.
Project Management:
• Experienced in developing and executing professional marketing programs, events, internal communications, and management of marketing material libraries, marketing production and other promotional activities.
• Manages cross-functional teams to establish an integrated marketing mix and facilitate plan execution.
• Meets and manages tight deadlines to address the urgency of customer requests.
• Makes recommendations for new processes or procedures.
• Manages budget and program budget tracking.
Marketing Strategy:
• Creates first draft of marketing strategy. Pulls together cross-functional team to ideate and assess ideas and initiatives against strategy.
• Establishes budget requirements for marketing strategy.
• Works on problems of complex scope. Exercises judgment and discretion and proactively analyzes and evaluates existing programs. Requires in-depth analysis and develops solutions for complex issues. Assists with making decisions on recommendations for new processes or procedure
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. 6+ years experience in marketing activities with a marketing organization or advertising agency. Two years project or client service management.
Has a wide range of experience as a skilled specialist of professional field. Requires thorough knowledge of business practices.
Strategic and resourceful.
Demonstrated advanced marketing communications skills; proven ability to readily grasp, organize and present complex concepts and products to internal and external audiences in clear, accurate and persuasive terms; experienced in developing professional marketing programs and communications.
Experienced in developing and executing effective marketing and communication programs, including newsletters, events, web sites, other promotional activities, content marketing, social media marketing and advertising
Typically plans and schedules own work and requires limited direction. Capable of seeing the "big picture" and the downstream impacts of their work. Results are normally shared with team.
Contacts are company-wide and external to provide or obtain information. May consult with senior management. Networks with internal and external key contacts. Able to influence decisions. Effective mentor and team player.
