Overall purpose of Job:
The Analyst will be responsible for providing marketing and operational support to Relationship Managers ("RM") heading a business development effort in the General Industries Finance industry specialty group. This position will consistently provide relationship backup to the RM(s) and also interface with certain product areas within the bank to facilitate the further development of new business opportunities. The position will require frequent monitoring and updates of the Salesforce Database and management reporting. The Analyst will handle operational aspects of business origination such as analyzing portfolio profitability, performing all follow-through of any deal origination process, preparing economic capital analysis, and managing customer intensive processes (other than credit analytics).
The Analyst will coordinate efforts for the RM(s) heading up a business development effort, providing support where needed including industry research, marketing material production, coordination with product areas, as well as other activities as identified by the RM(s). The Analyst will prioritize activities based on level of importance to the overall department and at the direction of the RM(s).
Major Responsibilities:
• Assist marketing activity by providing customer and industry research when requested by RM(s).
• Assist RM(s) with:
◦ Due diligence related to prospective client deals.
◦ Actively maintaining the Sales force database through direction of RM(s).
◦ Development of client marketing presentations and materials under the direction of RM(s).
◦ New strategic area development.
• Follow relationship development activities with clients and act as liaison with product areas to facilitate opportunities.
• Assist in documenting transactions.
• Develop knowledge (through internal and external training) of the bank, industry, credit and marketing activities.
• Develop responsibility for global network correspondence, client deal due diligence, and assistance with business origination as RM(s) deems appropriate.
• Attend client meetings when they occur locally, if appropriate, to observe the RM(s) and develop real world knowledge of relationship development and relationship management.
• Prepare call reports for review and comment by the RM(s) when attending client meetings.
• Relationship management related to BTMUS such as referring clients to BTMUS
• Product Liaison: Liaise with various product areas on USCB transactions to help develop more extensive knowledge of BTM's product capabilities. Integrate developing product knowledge into draft presentations and transaction memos.
Qualifications
We require:
• A college graduate, Bachelor’s Degree (preferably with a degree in a business related major, including Accounting, Economics)
• One year or more of work experience in a Corporate Banking setting
• Credit experience ideally from a training program with a money center bank/regional formal credit training or equivalent
• Must have had historical accounting and finance classes/experience
• Exceptional interpersonal, analytical and writing skills.
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to details.
• Skilled at using computer applications, including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience with spreadsheets and modeling desirable.
