Job Overview:
This Program Management role inside Operations primary responsibilities include overall leadership and accountability of complex Infrastructure projects, including, but not limited to, satisfying the intended business results with a successful and timely implementation. Identifying key barriers to a projects success and actively manages all mitigation activities. Ensuring all project contributors successfully complete assigned tasks as scheduled. Core responsibility for managing relationships and communicating with the project sponsor, senior management and a wide range of project contributors.
Major Accountabilities:
• Works at the Initiative or Feature level depending on the size of the program or projects.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with project contributors throughout the life cycle of the project. Must be familiar with the system’s scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the teams. Identify and monitor project risks.
• Successfully “manages up” by engaging leadership when needed for decisions or escalations as needed. Presents monthly program status updates for project health, issues, and risks backed by metrics and data from ALM (CA Agile Central).
• Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business.
• Manages an ongoing Program consisting of several closely aligned projects via collaborations with Project Managers working on each of those projects.
• Works with aligned Value Stream to facilitate development of the backlog and understand key milestones and delivery dates. Communicates feasibility of these dates to stakeholders and monitors progress for any impacts to requested timelines.
• Able to perform long term planning using capacity and demand data and customer roadmaps to proactively layout Initiative and Feature completion dates (accurate to the month or quarter depending on how far out).
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree desired, or equivalent training and experience.
Knowledge / Experience:
• Senior level person with a deep background in Project Management with proven experience managing large, complex, and/or highly visible projects.
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the areas of strategy, planning and project management required processes and techniques.
• Experience in Infrastructure Projects, including Hardware, Software and Network
• Knowledge of payments industry preferred, MasterCard specific knowledge highly preferred.
Skills/ Abilities:
• Possesses superior communication skills and is able to distill large amounts of data and information into clear, crisp, and actionable bullets for senior management and key business stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills required with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships.
• Listening, oral, written and presentation skills and effective interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills.
• Demonstrate ethics and values to generate high team trust.
