Position Overview: AEGON Asset Management is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Investment Analyst within the Securities Operations Team. Securities Operations is a team within Aegon Asset Management that is responsible for the day to day processing, reconciliation, research and issue resolution on all fixed income and equity securities within the investment portfolio. The Securities Operations Team interacts heavily with many other departments within AEGON Asset Management and affiliate operating divisions. Hire will continue to build relationships by maintaining cooperation and effective communication.
Responsibilities:
• Review and process complex transactional information on AEGON Asset Management’s portfolio of fixed income and equity securities.
• Research and resolve principal and interest differences with custodial banks and other internal teams.
• Reconcile, investigate variances and adjust securities holdings information within the Investment Accounting system, Trading system and Custodial Bank systems.
• Analyze income for appropriateness on all current securities holdings, research variances and work with internal and external groups to make needed adjustments.
• Assist in or lead the completion of customer requests with exceptional service levels.
• Onboard new clients through collaboration with other operational teams, client services, custodians and front office.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the flow of information, systems, and reporting tools, and use that knowledge to analyze, troubleshoot and document complex securities issues.
• Contribute ideas for, and implement, improvements to efficiency, accuracy and controls in relation to assigned work, projects or other process enhancements.
• Performs or leads assigned tasks or projects.
Required Qualifications:
Senior Investment Analyst:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience in financial services industry or technical analysis.
• Very strong customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and proactively address underlying customer needs to ensure positive outcomes for our clients
• Developed analytical, complex problem recognition and resolution, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with a variety of internal and external parties
• Ability to independently prioritize and work on multiple assignments with changing priorities
• Experience with Aladdin required
Intermediate Investment Analyst:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
• 3+ years of related experience in financial services industry or technical analysis.
• Proven ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external parties to understand customer needs and ensure positive outcomes for our clients.
• Process improvement experience preferred, with the ability to recognize opportunities within own role.
• Strong analytical, problem recognition and resolution, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access).
Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of his/her relevant experience and other job related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
