Global Client Services is part of Capital Group’s Investment Operations organization, with offices in Los Angeles, London, Singapore, and Tokyo. Our department services Capital’s institutional clients, prospects, and intermediaries. We support institutional marketing, sales, and distribution teams. Our mission is to deliver a superior client experience and enable the distribution of Capital Group’s investment services globally. We have several functional teams within our department.
As a Senior Business Project Analyst based in Los Angeles, you will sit within our Information Management team. We manage organizational, product, and portfolio data to produce scheduled reporting for institutional clients, consultants, and intermediaries.
You will be responsible for executing in-depth research and business analysis functions on initiatives of varying size and complexity that introduce or significantly alter capabilities, processes, or systems. During the course of the projects, you will also engage with other specialized functional areas such as the Project Management Office and our Information Technology Group.
Responsibilities:
• Participate regularly in large scale projects and lead small to medium sized projects in support of strategic business, regulatory, or operational objectives
• Analyze the value of an idea, concept, cost/benefit, request, or a potential project including the scope, objective, and initial high-level requirements
• Lead group discussions such as demos, user meetings, test team meetings, feedback sessions, and focus groups
• Serve as a resource to the department by supporting team in navigating business structure and relationships, identifying best practices, and mentoring associates within the group
• Collaborate with project leadership to drive the process to implement innovative recommendations, factoring in customer needs, external approaches, and/or competitor analysis
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years professional experience in the investment management industry with project management and/or business analysis responsibilities with significant scope and complexity
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects within a team or multiple teams
• Demonstrated broad working knowledge of standard processes, tools and deliverables, process mapping, process design, and requirements gathering
• Demonstrated knowledge of investment mandates, investment vehicle structures, investment operations, competitive landscape, and reporting/regulatory environments
• Business insight as it relates to external practices, trends, technology, and information affecting various departments and business areas
• Advanced skills and deep experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to travel between Southern California offices, as needed
